Hospital Cuts Upset Some Metro East Leaders

(KSDK) - Effective next week, East St. Louis' only hospital is cutting some services. Hospital owners call it a cost saving measure, while city leaders call it a potentially deadly mistake.

Prior to this new announcement, there was already a controversial battle to save Kenneth Hall Regional Hospital. The owners are hoping to merge the facility with another hospital in Centreville. That decision is pending, while officials are moving forward with plans to end trauma services beginning February 1st. Read more.
